Drawing from The Classic of Mountains and Seas description of the mythical 'Flying Serpent,' I created this narrative artwork. The snake’s patterns incorporate elements of Peking opera costumes and masks, while props from opera and dragon boats from Song Dynasty paintings heighten the tension of a dramatic battle scene. The surrounding border, inspired by ancient musical instruments depicted in Dunhuang murals, reflects the serpent dancing to the music.
